Kids learn systems best when they can see them.
FMF builds school-based Living Systems Labs that turn the campus into a real-time learning surface: environmental sensing + grow/life systems + student media + visible dashboards + kid-level AI insight.
What we install (mandatory pillars)
- A/V + media: a student-ready capture + editing workflow for storytelling and science communication.
- Environmental sensing: weather + air + campus signals, collected continuously.
- Grow / life systems: living systems that create feedback loops (soil, water, light, growth).
- Visible dashboards: hallway/public displays that translate signals into understanding.
- Kid-level AI insight: safe, age-appropriate explanations and “why it matters” prompts.
What “progress over perfection” looks like
- Start with durable infrastructure that works on day one.
- Grow into richer dashboards and content as capacity increases.
- Report impact with simple, visible metrics (usage + student output).
We design for teachers, students, and maintenance reality—so the lab stays useful.
Visible dashboards
Live displays turn sensor streams into understandable stories. Built for kids, useful for adults.
Student media studio
Students produce short segments: “what changed,” “why,” and “what to try next.”
AI insight (kid-safe)
Guided explanations at an age-appropriate level: patterns, cause/effect, and responsible curiosity.
Built to replicate
Standardized components + documented installs → deployable across multiple campuses.
Pilot: Juban Parc Elementary
The first proof site anchors the FMF model: durable infrastructure, visible dashboards, and student storytelling. The goal is a repeatable “kit” that can be expanded across Louisiana.
What sponsors enable
- Install + mounting + power + reliability
- Hallway display + dashboard hosting
- Media capture/edit baseline and training
- Measurement + reporting + public recognition
